Journey Revisited blows the roof off of the Monterey County Fair again!

Journey Revisited is an incredible draw at the Monterey County Fair each year; and this year -- the fourth time we've played this fair -- was no exception!! The house was packed! The classic sound of Journey's greatest hits of the Perry era had fans singing and dancing all evening.

Here are photos from the gig!

When:  Thursday, September 1, 7:30 PM
Where: Monterey County Fair, 2004 Fairground Road, Monterey, CA 93940
Tickets: Adult: $10, Kids (6-12): $6; Senior (62+): $9; Carnival Fun Pack: $30

NEXT GIG: Saturday, September 3, 9PM - Colorado State Fair!

1001 Beulah Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004
American Furniture Warehouse Amphitheater

In 1869, approximately 2,000 people converged on what is now Pueblo for a horse exhibition; and from that meager beginning was born the Colorado State Fair.

The Colorado State Fair has developed into the largest summer event in the State and offers families a fun, educational summer vacation!

The award-winning JOURNEY REVISITED's fidelity to the classic sounds of the Perry years is drawing audiences from all over!

Journey Revisited is:
Jeff Salado, Lead Vocals;
Val Popovic, Lead Guitar & Vocals;
Dave Sousa, Bass & Vocals;
Kevin Jachetta, Keyboards, Keytar, Guitar, & Vocals;
David Hawkes, Drums/Percussion.

JR frontman Jeff Salado featured in Q&A at

Jeff Salado
Lead singer, Journey Revisited.
What a great feature today at! Seth Metoyer did a Q&A with Jeff, "Journey Revisited singer Jeff Salado talks music, touring and playing Monterey" -- here's the intro:
Only a handful of singers can capture the essence and vocal range of original Journey singer Steve Perry. One vocalist that comes to mind is of course the current lead singer of Journey, Arnel Pineda. Another vocalist who lands on the radar rocked the 2014 Monterey County Fair. That singer is Jeff Salado from the Journey tribute band, Journey Revisited (or JR as some fans refer to them). The band recently played the stage at the Monterey Fairgrounds and fans can't seem to get enough of the tribute band. Singer Jeff Salado recently spoke to Examiner about his musical influences, touring, what it's like to play in Monterey and more.
A few of the questions...

What made you want to sing in a Journey tribute band?
I was playing in a variety band in 2003-2005, top 40 stuff, dance party music and we did a handful of Journey songs, and we often had requests to do them but we didn't have a keyboardist. I decided at that time to form a Journey tribute band because of the overwhelming response to my vocals -- they thought I sounded a lot like Steve Perry.

How do you respond to the compliments about how similar your vocals are to Steve Perry?
If anything I'm flattered and honored by the compliments that continue to come in about this; it works out perfectly as this is a tribute to Journey. What better way to honor the Perry legendary vocals than to go out each gig and sing for fans of his voice.

What's the difference between a cover band and a tribute band?
Obviously a cover band only covers the musical aspect of a particular group. The tribute band does note-for-note renditions of the particular artist and goes all the way -- dressing like the members of the original group and performing the shows as the original artists do (or did).

Journey Revisited gets slamming review for "blowing the roof off" again at the Monterey County Fair!

We already know that the guys can blow the roof of venues; the classic sound of Journey is a hit with audiences wherever Journey Revisited plays. But there's nothing like a review like this one, in the Examiner/ by Seth Metoyer, that makes it clear the band stands head and shoulders above not only tributes, but gives the band it honors a run for the money!
On Saturday night, a large crowd gathered to watch the very impressive Journey tribute band “Journey Revisited”. I’d first seen this band live back in 2013 at the Monterey County Fair. They blew the roof off, which is still off as a matter of fact. The current lineup for Journey Revisited consists of Jeff Salado ( Lead Vocals), Val Popovic (Lead Guitar & vocals) Kevin Jachetta (Keyboards) Keytar (Guitar, & vocals) Michael Gonzales (Bass & vocals) and Dave Hawkes (Drums/Percussion).
The first thing I noticed about Journey Revisited was how similar singer Jeff Salado moves and sings like original Journey vocalist, Steve Perry. Salado hits all the right notes and has a great stage presence. He’s interactive with the crowd and takes many photos of the crowd and selfies from the stage. I’ve been a fan of the original Journey band for years and it’s almost eerie how similar Journey Revisited is to the original act. The tribute band performed many top Journey hits including "Don't Stop Believin'", "Open Arms", and my favorite Journey song "Wheel in The Sky".
In recent history, the original Journey band replaced Perry with the amazing vocalist Arnel Pineda. I tell you what though; check out Jeff Salado sometime if you haven’t already. He gives Pineda a run for his money, and I personally think Salado’s vocal style is even closer to Perry’s than Pineda’s is – and that’s saying something. Find Journey Revisited on their official Facebook page here.
The band is stoked. A reaction from frontman Jeff Salado:
Wow. That's just great, we are all grateful and amazed how people accept what we do. It's our pleasure.
